Setting Book Goals for the New Year | 2019 New Year Resolutions

Hello my nerdy friends!

As the old year is winding down I thought I’d go over some ideas for what kind of book goals we should be setting for the new year. I’ve noticed a lot of problems in the past with people scrolling through social media and they either judge what another person’s goals are or they feel inadequate for not setting the same “standards” for theirselves. I’m here to tell you that those people hold no authority in your own personal life. Let them do what they want and #youdoyou girlfriend.

New year resolutions don’t have to be a huge daunting thing hanging over us, it only feels that way because we set way too many goals at once as well as them not being realistic. Most of the time this is the case and I can say this due to my past experiences so I wanted to give you a good idea of what you should do to set up effective goals that I’m sure you’re going to rock in 2019!

Baby It's Cold Outside | Bingeworthy TV Shows & Movies Made for Bibliophiles

Sometimes I’m in the mood for a good movie and don’t feel like reading. I’m kind of a big mood reader when it comes to reading books. So when I’m feeling less excited to pick up a good book I take that time to watch inspirational films instead! Keep reading on to check out some bookish movies to add to your “to watch list” for when the weather is quite frightful. ❄

Reading More Productively | Getting Into the Habit

If you’re anything like me right now you’re shaking your head thinking, how did I not finish as many books as I had liked to this year? Or the classic “why am I not reaching my Goodreads goal?” Well, my friend, that means you have to read a lot smarter and no, I don’t mean more “intelligent books.” Having trouble getting back into reading can be a result of many things and I’ve noticed quite a few of these from my own reading habits.

How to Save Money for Books (and Life in General)

If you’re anything like me you’ve got piles of books stacked up to your ceiling (may or may not be exaggerating, but if you do I won’t judge). Sometimes you just gotta take a stand and either take a break on buying buys or figure out how to get the best deals so you can keep on hoarding them into your home. I see you secretly ordering them online and hoping no one notices. Yes, I’m talking to you! When you’re ready to do some serious #booknerd adulting here I’ve got this handy list of ideas to make it happen.

Tis The Season of Book Giving

It’s the most wonderful time of the year to be giving away books! For anyone who’s in the mood to be more giving this season I’ve provided some ideas that you can do both online and offline in your own local library to provide books to others or a way for the less fortunate to have the opportunities to read books when they are limited on money and supplies.

Gift Ideas for a Book Nerd | Jólabókaflóð

In Iceland they have a holiday known as Jólabókaflóð (“Yule Book Flood” in English). Basically people give each other books and spend the holiday cozied up inside reading and yes, I agree, it should be a thing worldwide. I am all for it!

If you’re unsure of what kind of books your fellow nerd would like to read, it’s all good because I got you covered with a bunch of other bookish ideas to fulfill their heart with content.

How to Get ARCs + Free Books to Review

I’ve been seeing this question of how to get ARCs and free books circulating around a lot - usually with newer book reviewers/bookish influencers. I thought I’d put the questioning to an end and help you get a step ahead in the book reviewing game! I’ve been researching all the solutions to this because there are some other book bloggers posts on this, but some appear to not have all the latest and recent options out there.
